Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Headlines Barbershop ("Headlines", "we") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Headlines Barbershop iOS app and related services at headlinesbarbers.com.

Account information you provide: name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never plaintext), and optionally a profile photo.

App activity: the barbershop locations you favorite, the barbers you favorite, and a record of appointment requests and account events tied to your user account.

Device data: a push notification token tied to your device so we can send you booking and account updates. iOS version, app version, and crash diagnostics if you opt in via iOS Settings.

Approximate location: with your permission only, we use your device location to show you the nearest Headlines locations on the in-app map. We do not store or share your location coordinates.

Camera and photo library: with your permission only, we use the camera and photo picker so you can choose or take a profile photo. Photos you select are uploaded to our storage and associated with your account; we never read your photo library without your action.

To run your account; to schedule and confirm appointments; to send push notifications about your bookings; to provide customer support; to detect and prevent fraud and abuse; and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising profiling.

We use a small set of trusted service providers to operate the app. Each receives only the data needed for its function:

• Vercel (hosting): app and API hosting.
• Neon (database): stores account and booking data.
• Apple Push Notification service: delivers push notifications to your device.
• Expo Updates: delivers over-the-air app updates.
• Sentry: collects crash diagnostics. You can opt out in iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics.
• Email provider: sends transactional email such as password reset links.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics-for-sale services.

We retain your account and booking history as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing support@headlinesbarbers.com. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except for information we are required to retain for accounting or legal reasons.

You can edit your profile and change your password in the app. You can revoke camera, photos, and location permissions in iOS Settings → Privacy. You can disable push notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications → Headlines Barbershop. You can request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion by emailing support@headlinesbarbers.com.

The Headlines Barbershop app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their information, please contact us at support@headlinesbarbers.com and we will delete it.

If you previously used the Headlines Barber Shop app published before May 2026, we have imported your email and display name from that app into the new Headlines Barbershop app. Passwords were not imported — you will be prompted to set a new password the first time you sign in to the new app. No other data from the previous app was carried over.

We use TLS (HTTPS) for all data transmitted between the app and our servers. Passwords are stored as salted bcrypt hashes. We restrict access to production data to a small set of authorized engineers. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a security incident affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
